The Miracles Club make their music based around the emphasis of my two favorite things in the world; sultry 90's technicolor house beats with dive bar keyboards and a perfected disco southern percussion. It wouldn't be my first guess to hear this coupled with dreamy vocals leaking in from outer space (or more specifically from Honey O's windpipe), but that combination itself is the stilleto that holds up the heel on this pair of dancing shoes.

I think any DJ has a certain sound they lust after, hidden deep down inside, and upon hearing Miracles Club for the first time, which was live at Hard French down in San Francisco during Folsom Fair, the bell went off immediately for me. While it may not be the 100% exact representation of that sound I endlessly search for, I was certainly hooked from the first beat and traveled to Portland (in which they reside) to see their very next show, alongside the Cut Copy DJ's they seem to have a magical friendship with as they often remix each other, that's some pretty solid cred.

If you are not familiar, I searched through Soundcloud to find all their free to download tracks, so get on it now because you know we all like to say we heard it first.

Head on Collision Hospitalizes Anna Lange

Beloved Seattle staple, owner at Pretty Parlor boutique, and overall fiery vixen Anna 'Banana' Lange was in a serious head on collision this week. I heard about the incident last night but know nothing more than what was posted on her Facebook, needless to say we are all relieved that she is okay, but has some serious injuries to deal with for the next few months.

While I don't know her current plans, I will keep you updated if there is anything us Seattle-ites can do to help her recovery in any way, for now we are definitely sending all of our healing energies and love to a quick and healthy mending.

The roads are starting to get icy and we all know what weather is looming around the corner, please stay safe out there!

Fringe Turns Two Saturday Night!

"About a year and a half ago, a nice young man moved to Seattle from San Diego. Suddenly, crazy-glamorous new club nights started popping up. Instead of wearing jeans and T-shirts, people started turning up in full-body spandex, rhinestones, and garbage-bag dresses. And dance floors were filling up" -Kelly O', The Stranger

It's crazy but it's true, Fringe, Nark Magazine's first love child, is turning two this weekend! The party that pushed Seattle's burgeoning club kid scene, put The Eagle back on the map and opened its doors to all walks of life, now lives on to its terrible twos (which is similar to dog years so we are actually more like teenagers now).

Fringe Opening Night

With the help of Dj Skiddle and Brad Crelia, Fringe kicked off its public debacle in a blurry smash of boys, booze, ladies, wigs and rhinestones that lives on today. That cage has became the beacon of light for local and moved on celebs, queens, performers and more such as Lisa Dank, Stella Rose, Amoania, Phoebe Fondue, Caressa Dick, artStar, Wiggy Stardust and so many more, as well as werked out by the likes of Ongina, Jackie Hell, Richard Kennedy and so on.

The Social Seattle asked me to put together a top ten moments of Fringe, and they are as follows-

-Most recently, at the last Fringe, when that humungous muscle-tank got in his underwear and starting rag-doll tossing Faz around in the go-go cage, it was HOT. That daddy went home with someone VERY unexpected that night!

-NYE 2010, right before the drag performance Phoebe Fondue walks up to me and says, 'do you mind if I show a little butt?' I say, no, of course not, just keep it within limits. Next thing I know I look over at the cage and Phoebe Fondue is COMPLETELY naked.

-At Candy Fringe long ago, when we managed to drag a marching band in off the street to march around the Eagle dancefloor, playing along to the music.

-Lisa Dank's Lazertits.

-That time everyone got covered in and fed chocolate and were too drunk to realize it was coming out of Phoebe Fondue's ass.

-The puberty party, it had the best poster EVER, but I was the only one who came in theme and just ended up looking like middle school leftover emotrash. At least my pimples had rhinestone whiteheads.

-The medical night party when Jackie Hell came up to me all crazy and said 'I just keep eating all these pills off the floor!' Later, I found out they were nightmare control and stool softening meds, I hope she slept sound.

-Caressa Dick wearing so much lip gloss over her entire face that she looked like the plastic surgery cat lady. Also she probably peed on someone that night.

-Meeting Ongina and getting gay married. -Whitney Allison

-Selling Jello shots. In a dress, I did alright... in nothing but my skivvies I made a killing. That's the night I learned the true power of sex appeal. -Jinkx Monsoon

And now! We present our big blowout two year anniversary, this Saturday night (12/3) at The Eagle! This time we are really mixing up the game and bringing you something all new.

Fresh in from San Francisco we have our Hard French babe, Dj Carnita with a bag full of 45's. Yes that's right, this Fringe is going to be ALL vinyl, all Soul, Funk, R&B, Oldies and Disco! Now that's a sockhop you can cover in glitter.

Alongside DJ Carnita will be Havana's Sophisticated Mama soul DJ, Nitty Gritty! We are pulling him away from the bachelorette parties at Havana and putting him in a gay bar right where he belongs, let's break him in easy okay?

We've also got a very special live performance by staple Homo for the Holidays crew, Henry Lou Hoover of Cherdonna and Lou, partnered up with Kitten LaRue! I honestly have no idea what they have in store for us, but I know it will be major.

And the theme for this affair? Celebrity Zombies. Why? Because we can. Pick your favorite celeb, singer, performer, artist- whatever- past or present (or if you are really good, from the future), and create your zombie form of them. Then I say we invade Linda's the next day for a zombie brunch? Anyone?

UPDATED: Facebook Takes Bullying to the Next Level, Good or Bad?

Good morning, wake up, pour a cup of coffee, turn on your computer and see who's getting shit all over today!

I couldn't help but bring this up for discussion as my entire Facebook feed today was top to bottom filled with putting apparent "douchebag" Andy Meyer on blast for his actions Friday night at the Cha Cha (Click here to see a very long image of all the posts/comments).

Now let me just say first, that this persons actions are totally unacceptable, Victoria has been holding down the fort at the Cha Cha forever and she is amazing, if I was there in person I would have personally had a few words to share with this person... but that raises two points. 1. I am glad the Cha Cha took a stance on this (or did they?.. I wonder who was running their page for that...) because we all know, well... it certainly hasn't been filled with the liveliest of folk lately, however, point number 2. Here we go again also raising the bar yet again on Seattle's infamous passive aggressive culture.

I agree, if a patron is not going to tip AND be a jerk, who would want him anywhere? But is throwing someone into the public pool of furious fingers really the right answer? Someone was an asshole, and called someone that is very dear to Capitol Hill overweight, and that is awful- now the entire Seattle social internet is calling him a, let me sum this up, 'retardo douchebag jerk asshole big eared crazy face ugly' bla bla it goes on. Does he deserve it? Probably. Does it show that we, as the scene that desperately holds on to Capitol Hill and all it's original glorly, are mature? Definitely not.

There is another reason I bring this up, because it seems all too familiar to the great cyber scandal of 2011, the illustrious, totally over the top public affair of Lisa Dank, the 'dog napping crazy bitch'. Obviously if you have ever looked at Nark Magazine you know that Lisa is a close friend, and I am her backup and DJ, so clearly I know what actually happened in this incident. But that doesn't/didn't matter at all, because one person publicly announced that Lisa Dank is a crazy bitch and stole some guys dog (untrue), and then like sheep everyone followed in suit, starting the biggest cyber bullying scandal I had ever seen, and maybe the first really. Nobody cared to find out what actually happened or maybe help the situation, they just slammed away, crazy bitch crazy bitch crazy bitch. In fact, the offended party here was one of the top slammers. I lost a lot of respect for some very important people that day, and honestly, haven't really gained it back.

Now when you are someone like Lisa Dank, this can (and did) work brilliantly in your favor. By no control of your own, bam, you just became famous. You found a dog, you took care of it, you gave it back, now you are even bigger news than police shooting people for whittling wood. For people like Lisa Dank, this is good. Even things like this came about, and they are, hilarious.

Now for some random Texan nobody that it would seem to me that Andy Meyer is, this is going to be really awful, and it could get some people tied up in some nasty law suits for slander. Yes people, even though Facebook helps us hide behind screens, slander still does exist. Once again, I'm not taking sides, but I am opening up the discussion here:

Cyber-bullying: Good? Bad? Effective? Passive? Immature? Resourceful? Pointless? Useful? Does it look good for you or your business to jump on these band wagons?

Isn't not doing the research and confrontations on rumors even WORSE than this? Sometimes, in life, you don't get a tip, and someone calls you fat. It happens to the best of us, and to the worst of us.

UPDATES: Looks like the Andy Meyer that was pointed out by Victoria Liss on Facebook was the wrong person, sending tons of people, businesses and news sources into a frantic back peddling as they scrambled out their apologies for posting 'his' name, 'his' photo, and probably meeting up with their lawyers to talk about their next step. This is just one of the points I was trying to make about jumping on a bandwagon of this caliber. Whatever happened to research being a part of journalism?

NPR at least pointed out this obvious fact when briefly citing the story-
"In Seattle, Victoria Liss was angry when a guy left no tip and wrote that she could stand to lose some weight. But her Facebook rant exposed the wrong guy. It's another lesson about when to pause before hitting send."

Also the two most apparent things that came out of this article to people were-

1. That I didn't regurgitate the same verbatim post going around Facebook so I was clearly on 'Andy's' side even though I openly and honestly expressed how situation that occured was not okay and should not be tolerated and I am glad someone stood up about it, before going into a totally different point. And in the end I had no back peddling to do, I didn't have to stress out and call people and ask them to take down that post or that mention or that photo or any physical tie in with the story, but I did receive quite a few of those calls!

2. Because I mentioned Lisa Dank, in a completely valid way, I was later referred to in press as Lisa Dank's complaining friend, but guess what- my prediction was exactly on point. Now that this story has been mentioned on Huffington Post, NY Times, Good Morning America, NPR and more, the benefiting person is now national news.

Looks like social media justice was served in many different forms here, I can't say I look forward to the next cyber scandal but I certainly hope someone thinks a little more next time. It is interesting to me that in the blink of an eye Facebook can turn into US Weekly. A lot of us hate the 'internet commentary' type but guess what, thanks to Facebook everyone is just a few keys away from being one, think about it.

If it wasn't already obvious, us here at Nark Magazine have been working diligently to bridge the gap between Seattle and some of the countries hottest and queeriest parties, our most fashionable gay icons, DJ's, performers and more that are littered all over the globe and mix them together with Seattle's top nightlife talent. We've created Juanita More's monthly residency, which most recently featured Los Angeles legend Victor Rodriguez, we've had LA's Phyliss Navidad, our lady heart throb from Paris, La Fraicheur, coming up at Fringe in January we will be featuring all Portland talent, and we are werking out a visit from miss Cherie Lily and the incomparable Hi Fashion as well as a visit from the amazing Miracles Club for New Years Eve and, well, the list goes on.

N: Why have you never been to Seattle, what did we ever do to you?

J: Seattle never invited me over before. He added me as a friend on Facebook, we chatted a few times. We started texting. He wanted to trade cock shots, I said I was down, but then he chickened out. I hope he has grown a set of balls this time around.

N: Did you know it's totally uncool here to use an umbrella in the rain? If it rains, how cool do you plan to be? (haha, "if").

N: I heard a rumor you are looking to form a single file line of muscle bros outside the DJ booth, how are you planning to please them?:

J: I was hoping they were planning on pleasing me... Don't get me wrong. I am not a selfish lover. I could spend all day and night on the right ass, cock, n' balls. My ideal man-boy?? 5'9"-6'0" weight proportionate, muscled, dark hair, smoldering eyes, smooth to moderately hairy, tattoos, an ass to have dinner on, and a boner that shoots buckets. N: So D*ckslap's purpose is to push the borders and boundaries of just how much low down dirty 'fun' we are 'legally' allowed to have in Washington. J: My recipe for a dance party that borderlines a sex party? Who needs porn stars? All they have that we don't are video cameras.

N: Will you come dressed like a gym teacher and boss us around?

J: Sounds good to me bro. As long as you all come dressed in gym uniforms and are prepared to hit the showers after my set.

Around midnight tonight a man was approached in the Diamond parking lot adjacent to the Rialto Court apartments on Boylston Street (between Howell and Olive Way) in Capitol Hill. In this attempted robbery the reported 'skinny white male' asked the other man for his wallet, when he said no the robber shot him twice in the stomach. The victim dragged himself onto the front steps of the Rialto Court apartment complex where he held hands with the Rialto apartment manager, Nave, until police arrived.

The Rialto became the crime scene as a revolver slug was retrieved by SPD, the shooter was said to have run off south bound wearing a Seahawks jersey and stepped into a silver Jaguar. The victim was hospitalized and his current status is unknown.

I actually really like Threesome Thursdays, even though it's all pop music, it's a fun time, and it's free and a good diving board into a pool of a dozen plus Jim Bean and gingers, hell and ginger boys too, I really recommend your attendance- but that is totally not the point here. This looks like a photo of someones pile of barf outside the party at 2am. Was that the inspiration? When I saved the file off another website it saved as a screen-cap PNG, did you actually make your flier on an iPhone? That's actually not even that bad because I have plenty of apps that could probably pump out a decent image, this is a disgrace. What are those cherries for? Is a weird poorly cutout photo of three bro twinks backsides on a boat supposed to make me forget the cherries and the drop shadows?? And why such a blurry photo of two attractive DJ's?? (DJ Skiddle and Pbear). I think this pisses me off the most because a lack of effort makes a really fun party look like the opposite, you're shooting yourself in the foot!

PSA: If you can't do it yourself, hire a designer people. There are plenty of boho broke-asses out there who make amazing art, and will do it for you quickly and cheaply. It goes a long way!

Nark Interviews Victor Rodriguez (LA)

We have such an exciting evening coming up in Seattle this weekend with the musically charged mixture of two west coast legends visiting us at The Eagle on Saturday night, Juanita More and Victor Rodriguez! Individually, these two party powerhouses have fueled the best in nightlife in San Francisco (Juanita) and Los Angeles (Victor) from as early as the mid-80's; when combined in one place, asses are sure to shake uncontrollably.

This is a monumental evening as not only are these two combined in one DJ booth, but it is also Victor Rodriguez' first visit to Seattle or the Pacific Northwest in general, you're not going to want to miss this! I got the pleasure of interviewing Mr. Rodriguez about his upcoming visit.

Nark: Hi Victor, what's the first thought that comes to your mind when I say Seattle?

Victor Rodriguez: Trees and enviro-hotties.

N: So your biography says you are a jet setter, if you're not in L.A. or Palm Springs you're off in San Francisco or Puerto Rico and so on, DJ'ing, mingling, being amazing- and yet never to Seattle, what's up with that? We are a real city too you know.

VR: It's all about timing, I have been wanting to go for years. I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to this trip.

N: Tell us a little bit about your beginnings in the night life world.

VR: I started working in an underground party called Plastic Passion in 1986, it was a really great weekly party that had different monthly themes. It started out in Old warehouses then moved to old hotel ballrooms in downtown L.A., the crowd was very mixed, all sorts. It really set a tone for me that followed me still today.

N: How do you compare the overall 'scene' to now?

VR: In L.A. We had a very cool boom about three years ago that very much had the same energy I witnessed back in the 80's. I felt blessed to do it twice. It was really nice to have the art, dance, fashion and music worlds have a strong presence in the club world, in an organic way.

N: You no doubt personally know all the biggest gay/queer/whatever performers, DJ's and public figures from the past 20+ years, who are some of your favorite people?

VR: The Horse Meat Disco guys, my Honey Soundsystem boys in San Francisco, my Spank and Stank kids (Christy Love and Jeremy of House of Stank) in New York, Billy Beyond, Gant Johnson, Tee Scott, David Mancuso, Frankie Knuckles, Bus Station John, Andy Butler, James Murphy and Pat Mahoney, Sleezy McQueen, Cole Medena, DJ Harvey, and of course my sister in crime Chris Bowen. My favorite figures I don't know are Patti Smith, John Waters, Irwin Allen, Herb & Dorothy Vogel and Minnie Riperton.

N: Give us a little idea of you're planning to serve up from the DJ booth?

VR: I'll tell you when I know, normally about five minutes before I start! But, as always, no top 40.

Diesel Releases a Yellow Stream all the way down Capitol Hill

It's come to my attention that Capitol Hill's new bear / daddy bar Diesel may have it out for long standing staple Capitol Hill gay bars. Is it because they favor the same clientele? Are the current bars just not good enough for them? I looked further into this and dug through the grapevine...

It would seemed from what I have gathered that the owner of Diesel was a patron of The Eagle before opening his own bar, nothing out of the ordinary there. However upon further asking it would seem that he was kicked out of the Eagle not once, but twice. I'm not sure why each time, but apparently one of them was for wastedly pissing on the floor.

Now I'd say welcoming this person back after their first altercation with a gentle bartender is rather kind, but for this type of behavior they did the right thing. I know if you peed on the floor in my house you would certainly be 86'd from Nark manor. The Eagle seems to take no active stance or aggressive bias on this situation, they are just doing their job and keeping their establishment friendly to all us wild life, and certainly keeping the smell factor to a minimum, (maybe a litter-box night is in the works?).

But it doesn't stop there, Diesel owner and partner is also reportedly going up to the employees of other established Hill gay bars The Cuff, Madison Pub, CC Attles, Pony and Purr and telling their employees that they should come work for Diesel since they are going to steal all of their business anyways. This douchey small time mentality is not being well received, especially in our still rugged economy, most establishments on the hill are supportive of each other as they are all sometimes on the brink of door-shutting (i.e. sayonara Chapel). One person comments, "When did Kent move into Seattle?".

However things seemed to get a little more heated when reportedly bartenders from multiple local bars were out on a night on the town which included stopping in and supporting the newly opened Diesel. After knocking back a few and minding their own business and handing over their hard earned cash to the bar, one of the Eagle bartenders was spotted and removed from the bar.

This raises to question the friendliness level of some of our bars on the hill. As far as the Eagle goes, they have more than opened their doors to all walks of life, if you want to come in you are welcome. However I have stood at the door and turned away anyone that comes in with a sour-shit face and says out loud "ew, there's a girl here?" because I think we can all agree that no one needs a debbie-downer sexist asshole around them at any given time. As far as other bear/man market bars go; at CC's I have always felt welcome no matter who I am with, it maintains the friendly neighborhood sense while also gathering a whole lot of scruff-tastic gentlemen. While I like Madison Pub, I have learned that walking in there with a cute girl in arm is a major no-no, and in my book that's a major bar turn-off, you know those moments where you open the door and the record skips and everyone turns around? Reeeeally uncomfortable, however their bartenders are sweet as triple chocolate cake. I've always felt fine at the Cuff, minus maybe my mesmerizing fixation on that fisting drawing, but that's my own thing. Pony has always been great as long as you keep your shit together, but that's the magic of it, as bar manager Marcus Wilson has done everything from shooting confetti in my face and making me feel like a princess to kicking me out himself for me being a dumbass. While Purr isn't really my scene, I've still had a good time there and haven't ever felt unwelcome, but that however brings me to my next point.

When did we stop drawing the line between gay and bigot and start drawing it between twink and bear, fag and masc, leather and couture, butch and fairy, guy and girl, stationary and trans-gendered, GAY BAR AND OTHER GAY BAR? What happened to agreeing on one thing, that homophobic / violent / sexist / racist / idiot people sucked and start stabbing all of each other in the back instead?

Hey Tranny it's Tranny this year was a roaring success! With your help we were able to raise $2,300 for Gay City Health Project, that may not sound like the craziest numbers but for small non-profits here on the hill that do so much for the community, it really makes a big difference!

Special thanks and shout outs to our amazing DJ's, Devil Eyes, Amoania, and the gorgeous Phyllis Navidad who came all the way up from L.A. just for us. You'd have to be living under a giant lifeless rock to not know about Juanita More! or her annual Pride Extravaganza, the amount of money she has raised, the people involved and the talent on location is just astronomical. Here's all the deets straight from the source..

Juanita MORE!’s iconic Pride bash, touted as the “Best Queer Party” of the year by the SF Bay Guardian, moves back to its original location at the newly renovated Chambers Eat + Drink and the adjoining Phoenix Hotel. Returning to the space where it all started, Juanita promises to once again deliver the party of the year.

The event will take place on Sunday, June 26, 2011 and is benefiting GSA Network (www.gsanetwork.org). All proceeds from the party will go to this great youth organization that connects school-based gay-straight alliances to each other and community resources through peer support, leadership development, and training.

Over the past seven years, Juanita has helped raise big money for worthy causes through her annual bacchanal, and she has high hopes for bringing in much needed funds for GSA Network this year. “Recently publicized instances of anti-LGBT bullying and harassment in our schools highlight the importance of GSA Network’s programming ” said Juanita, “I am so happy to be able to support their important work this year.”

Juanita has pulled together 12 hours of DJ and performer entertainment from San Francisco and around the world. R&B and dance singer Dajae will sing her classic hits - Brighter Days, U Got Me Up and more. “The beauty of this annual event is that--not unlike the work of this year’s beneficiary--it transcends categories and labels,” Juanita said, “It revels in all the diverse aspects of LGBT culture that make San Francisco so unique. I recently got Jessica 6' album See The Light and it's been playing on repeat, particularly this song with Antony.

I first saw Nomi Ruiz (singer/songwriter of Jessica 6) when she was on tour singing for Hercules and Love Affair throwing a whole slew of amazing stage presence and working that voice through a lot of dancing shoes in the audience. Taking the 'R' out of Crapitol Hill?

There seems to be a lot of exciting new things happening on the hill lately... specifically targeting beloved Olive Street, which I live on so I can double enjoy this.

I'm excited to finally get down to the new TROUBLE. The FRED, in all it's projectable-wall-space-glory sounds like an amazing addition to Capitol Hill's potential venues, although still a confusing mystery to me. I'll be photographing it just to make it real at the end of the month for this months party, and continually enjoying their neon wildlife posters.

And, on top of this, is another huge and potentially classy venue opening up just a block up from that? Looks like a few of Seattle's crafty minds have some big plans for the building that now (and still will, thankfully) contains Artful Dodger Tattoo and Sideshow salon, check out the deets on that deal here on SGS.

And on top of that, CC's will soon be just a block up from that? The main point here is, (possibly not including CC's but I can't jump to that conclusion...) the amazing thing we're seeing is some REAL venues and REAL destination spots, modern, classy, visual, a full-time fun, very San Fran, and perfectly homo. The grunge shit needs to go, you can't just keep filling your messy, poorly put together, dirty venues with a billion flashing blinding please-don't-look-at-the-crumbling-walls lazer lights and call it okay! (minus of course two of the best flashy light joints around, Pony and The Eagle).

Another bonus is a lot of these spaces will need to be filled with what Capitol Hill provides best: artists, bartenders and musicians... everybody wins!

No, it's not a new band, it's just a night out. I cruised down the hill Friday night, starting out with a little Glitterbang at Electric Tea Garden, (check them out on April 27th, playing with Noddy and Dangerous Ponies at the Comet!) Followed up by some Fannie Mae darling down at the Wildrose for LEZBRO, and, like any good night, ended up among ass-grabbing hair-machines and drunk tattooed boys down at The Eagle for this year's Spring Thaw. Dark Tour Update

We're on our third week now of the Dark Tour, flippin' hair and glitter all over the southwest. Today we leave Austin and its madness behind, after turning the Red Fez into a riot, and ending the week being serenaded by my personal idol, Yoko Ono.

Our first stop was in Portland where we had trannies tearing up the floor at the Ella Street Social Club..

Next up was spending some time in San Francisco, where I spun it out for some grizzlies at Bearracuda, and discogays at Viennetta Discotheque. In the mean time, Lisa had some run-ins with the cops while wheat-pasting herself all around the bay; if you're on the cover of magazines carry them with you, apparently it gets you out of anything (and into everything), much of the pasting and cop run-ins are chronicled on Lisa's Tumblr.

Can't rip us down..

In between promoting for our shows coming up later this month in SF and doing phone interviews with L.A. radio-stream Moheak, we took some time to let our Seattle skin soak up some sun and excercise, and try to scare some children of course.

Before we skipped town I got to see my favorite King and Queen, Joshua J, and momma Juanita More, do it up birthday style for Bootycall at Qbar, and snapped some locals. Road tripping has been crazy so I haven't had a chance to get those photos out yet but very soon!

Then it was time to hit the road to Los Angeles for our gig at Bardot in Hollywood. We arrived the night before and passed out, only to wake up and realize we were staying right on the beach which couldn't have been any better.

Tsunami free in L.A.

The tsunami had everyone in a panic but couldn't let that stop us from touching some sand and sleeping on the shore for a bit, and of course doing another paste.

Then we did our thing at Bardot the next night, it was an interesting change of crowd for us but they really got into it by the end and we had a blast.

Apparently Deadmau5, which we didn't realize until after our show, was playing through the door right behind us, it was a pretty surreal thing to walk in on (you can see a tiny little video Here on the book of my face.)

Afterwards, we slept for two hours, got up and started our insane non-stop 25 hour trek to Austin, Texas from L.A... something I never want to do again, although I'm writing this on the road from Austin to L.A., we at least have some time to stop and rest on this swing. Before leaving L.A., Lisa got this little beauty up on the beach at Playa Del Ray.

We charmed our way through border patrol but unfortunately not out of a speeding ticket, 66 in a 55? really? Our first taste of Texas patrol... the car also nearly melted two miles outside of Austin but we did, in fact, make it.

Ramona the Road Dog

We had just enough time to slap on some face and head straight into downtown Austin and smash up the Red Fez with the Secret Shoppers, check it out (more videos to come).

We spent the rest of the week in Austin putting around, confused by the madness of SXSW, slapping wheat pastes up all around the town and venues, and catching some sunburns, as well as delving into the Austin gay scene and realizing it needs a LOT of help, massive queer SXSW Nark party next year? I think so.

Babydank paste reppin' the typos

Did I mention we spent the whole week camped out at the St. Edwards Catholic University fresman dorms? Although it was probably the most accommodating spot, it was also certainly the most hilarious... nothin' like a couple o' old dudes lurking around campus, watching 18 year olds play sports. Luckily it was spring break so it wasn't too bad, but we were too weird for all those uppity kids, luckily Lisa Dank's brother, who we were staying with, kept up with our antics.

I miss my mommy..

SXSW in a nutshell- total shit show. Everything was crazy with so, so, so, so, so many people around, and way too much stuff to do, and overpriced taco trucks. Austin was pretty great but by the main weekend of 'South-by' (a term I never want to hear again) it was a little overwhelming, of course that was ALL redeemed when we got the chance to see Yoko Ono... if you know anything about me you know Yoko is my Lordess Jesus'ess sister savior, I've missed a few opportunities to see her in a person and now it finally came to fruition, and in a small, intimate venue where I got to be just a few feet away, it was a truly inspiring moment for me (check out a super crappy cell-phone video Here.

Lisa did some more pastes... in fact... I think she may have lost it a bit when she started whacking at her mane with a pair of scissors and wheat-pasting her hair in random places around Austin. Gross? Kinda. Amazing? Definitely. We definitely left our mark...

Now back to the awful drive, on the plus side we get to hit up the Grand Canyon on the way back, desert photoshoot? I'm thinking so.

Come check out Lisa and I's most ridiculous and final shows in San Francisco THIS WEEKEND! Starting off with an explosive, drag-queen go-go'd monster-mess at a BIG TOP, where we'll be doing our thing alongside Rupaul's Drag Race's own Raja, and legendary San Fran queen Heklina, Saturday March 26th at Club 8. Then get your last taste the next night at Rebel for Cocktailgate, Sunday March 27th! I'm so excited for these shows, and we've got some Seattle-ites, Portlanders and even some Sacramento..ians(?) coming in just to see us. I'll be easing out the rest of the week with another dj set at Viennetta Discotheque on Monday at SF Underground, and catching some new photos at Bootycall Wednesdays, and then that's it for the road! That is until we get back for our return show in Seattle, tentatively the 'Dankfest', you won't want to miss what we've been cooking up for that... (4/20 at Nuemos).

Telephoned was born one night in Brooklyn when DJ/producer Sammy Bananas (Fool's Gold) and singer/party starter Maggie Horn (Good Peoples) decided to record their own version of T-Pain's "Can't Believe It." Their track was neither remix nor cover - instead, the duo fashioned a postmodern take on both, warping the original beat into a hypnotic club track and bringing out the dreamy qualities only hinted at in Pain's auto-tuned melodies. Sammy and Maggie's fresh "Can't Believe It" quickly became a DJ favorite - even making it into mix rotation on LA hip-hop station Power 106! - so they decided to keep recording as a team, cleverly named after the kids game of Telephone: no faithful copies, just a party line of unexpected twists. "Pop Champagne" is their latest concoction, turning Ron Browz' rap hit into a spacey dancefloor gem ("Bottle service electro meets Triplets Of Belleville!" says Ms Horn) that's instantly addictive and massively charming. More reworks are on their way, turning pop into new-school standards and continuing to put a fresh spin on party music. Telephoned are off the hook!

Rude Dudes is a DJ Duo from Portland, consisting of DJ RAD! and Solomon, DJ. Not your conventional DJs, and definitely not the conventional duo, Rude Dudes are smashing genres and putting them back together in a crazy blender, smashing parties and shows for the last 3 years. Doing what DJ's call 1's, 2 turntables and mixer, mixing into each other and always working the mixer, blowing through records at a mindblowing speed. One thing's for certain, keep your radio requests to yourself, he wouldn't touch top 40 with a stick, too easy.
